Lost Your Locking Wheel Nut Key?

Short answer: Check the glovebox, boot and spare wheel well first. If it's gone, a dealer may be able to supply a new key from the code in your service book, or a mobile tyre fitter can remove the locking nuts with specialist tools.

Where it usually is

  • The glovebox or door pockets
  • Under the boot floor, near the spare wheel or jack
  • In a small bag in the boot side pockets

If you need the wheel off now

We can remove locking wheel nuts without the key, then fit standard nuts or a new locking set. Once you have a new key, keep it somewhere you'll remember.

Common questions

Is there a code for my locking wheel nut key?

Many locking nut sets come with a reference number on a card, often kept with the handbook. With that number a dealer may be able to order a replacement key.

Will removing the locking nut damage my alloy?

Not when it's done properly. We use specialist removal tools and take care around the wheel's finish.
